'home' visit

Yesterday we hosted the regional orphan court judge, social worker and our attorney for our official home visit here in Latvia.  Much like the visit we had from our home study agency in Illinois back in May, we were required to receive a visit from these officials to evaluate how things were going with Irena now in our care.

We are pleased to say that everything went well!  Grateful for God's provision in that.  We have heard just recently of reports where this was not the case... where the adopted child was not encouraged about their new family, but questioned about how much he would miss his current life and friends.

Upon our first meeting of the orphan court judge in Irena's region it was clear that she supports this adoption whole heartedly.  She has known Irena for many years.  The more we uncover about the past we did not know about previously, the more we are in awe of God's mighty hand on our new daughter and His loving care and protection of her.
